Beginning ballet (7 to 11 years old):
Students will learn the fundamentals of classical ballet within a traditional class structure. These slow and thorough classes heavily emphasize correct ballet posture, self-discipline, musicality, expression, and ballet terminology. Students can build confidence, strength, endurance, flexibility, focus, spatial awareness, coordination, agility, and teamwork skills.
Beginning Jazz (7 to 11 years old):
The Beginning Jazz curriculum is based on the classical jazz dance technique with influences incorporated from modern jazz and Broadway styles. The jazz class will focus on flexibility, rhythm, extension, balance, speed, and strong movement preparing students for longevity of dancing.
Beginning Modern (7 to 11 years old):
Students will learn various traditional modern dance techniques using breath, gravity, varied use of the torso, and expressive interpretation. These classes explore tempo, rhythm, levels, shapes, dynamics, and improvisation. Students can build confidence, strength, endurance, flexibility, focus, spatial awareness, coordination, agility, teamwork skills, and self-discipline.
Beginning Hip Hop (7 to 11 years old):
The class will include a weekly warm-up, beginner hip-hop steps, followed by choreography. Artistic expression is encouraged. Basic break-dance skills, strength moves and isolations will also be introduced.
Intermediate Ballet (7 to 11 years old):
This class continues the establishment of Beginning Ballet concepts while introducing more complex movements at the barre and in center.
Intermediate Jazz (7 to 11 years old):
Students in intermediate jazz will be learning more advanced turns, leaps. and traveling steps, as well as, learning to utilizing the movements into choreography.
