Originally from the buckeye state, Alia Simon Montijo received her dance education from The Ohio State University. While there, she studied with Bebe Miller and Ming Lung-Yang, among many other acclaimed teachers.
After receiving scholarship to the American Dance Festival summer and winter programs, she performed work by David Dorfman and Neta Pulvermacher. Alia began her professional dance career with the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble and continued her career in Chicago with Inaside Chicago Dance.
She has performed work by acclaimed choreographers Eddy O’Campo, Elijah Gibson, Laurie Eisenhower, Larry Keigwin, and Kiesha Lalama-White and she is thrilled to return for her second season with the Joel Hall Dancers, where she is also on faculty.
