After 15 long years of faithful service as Board Chair, Margaret Thomas is stepping down from this post — and our Board of Directors has unanimously elected a new Chair of our governing body, Ms. Debbie Chanel.
- Debbie Chanel previously served as Chair of the JHDC Board Development Committee.
- Debbie will officially Chair her first Board meeting on Saturday, March 21, 2015
- Margaret will continue to serve as a member of our Board of Directors until the end of the current Fiscal Year — (June 30, 2015) — at which point she will then move onto our new “JHDC Honorary Board.”
Please join us in wishing Debbie the very best of luck in her new role — and in thanking Margaret for her many, many years of tireless service, contributions & dedication to the enduring mission of JHDC.

I look forward to the many opportunities ahead, and all the excitement of our celebration season.”

Chanel has deep professional experience with the worlds of retail and dance, and currently serves as Executive Director/General Manager of Russian Pointe, a leading supplier of dance footwear, apparel, and accessories. She was also the founder and owner of Barrington’s “Just The Basics Danse Wear” — a highly successful dance apparel business. Her professional areas of expertise range from operations and business development, procedural management, customer relations, training, procurement and team development.
