Fresh off of a Best Choreography nomination by the Black Theater Alliance Awards, Inc., Joel Hall and the Joel Hall Dancers & Center are pleased to announce yet another nomination for the same category!
This time around, it’s the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago (AAAAC),in their 16th Annual Black Excellence Awards Ceremony & Gala, that is recognizing Joel Hall for his part in yet another collaborative production: “Lush Life: The Music of Billy Strayhorn”. This one-night only spectacle that occurred in November of 2015, played tribute to the great, late- (and often under-credited) Jazz musician, Billy Strayhorn with performances in voice, music, and of course, dance.
Last year, Joel Hall and the Joel Hall Dancers were honored with awards from the AAAAC in the categories of Best Choreographer and Outstanding Achievement in Dance – Overall Performance, respectively, for Joel‘s creation of “Anja – The Unexpected”. The Joel Hall Dancers & Center humbly, yet eagerly, look forward to the outcome of this year’s ceremony and invites you to once again cheer on Joel and the other nominees.
The gala will take place on Monday, October 24, 2016 at:
