joel hall dancers & chicago black dance legacy project

  • Joel Hall Dancers @ Logan Center for the Arts 915 East 60th Street Chicago, IL, 60637 United States (map)

Joel Hall Dancers presents Joel Hall’s original piece Widows with the Chicago Black Dance Legacy Project on March 25 and March 26 at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts.

Created by Joel Hall in 1990, Widows depicts a widow who meets the ghost of her widower. The two engage in a power struggle, highlighting some of the ways people behave in intimate partnerships. Widows invites audiences to consider how we beautify, glorify, and normalize violence.

General admission tickets can be purchased for $25 ($10 for students and seniors). Visit tickets.uchicago.edu to purchase your tickets TODAY!

About Chicago Black Dance Legacy Project

Launched in 2019, CBDLP brings together a cohort of dance companies to learn from each other and leverages the resources of the Logan Center and other University of Chicago entities to bolster Black dance companies’ operational capacity to ensure the long-term survival of their legacies.

Joel Hall Dancers joined the inaugural cohort of companies and proudly returns to support the legacy, growth, and future of Black dance in Chicago.
